MEMORY VERSE CHANGE:

This change was commuicated via email at the start of the season, but is duplicated here for your convenience:

  • Going forward, a “Memory Verse” can actually consist of more than 1 verse. For example, Romans 1:3-4 will be considered 1 memory “verse”, and both will need to be given if called for in Memory Verse Bonuses, the Quote Bee, Memory Master, and Memory Verse Challenge. There is even one instance where there are non-contiguous verses (Romans 8:35 & 37).

OFFICIAL LIST CORRECTIONS:

  • Add Nereus [R 16:15] as a Proper Named Person
  • Add Rome [R 1:7] as a Proper Named Place
  • Remove barbarians [R 1:14] from Proper Named Groups
  • Add Spain [R 15:28] as a Proper Named Place
  • Add Mary [R 16:6] as a Proper Named Person

INTERCHANGEABILITY:

In addition to what is found in the Interchangeability section of the Rule Book, the following will be interchangeable for this season:

  • Here is an additional change regarding substitutions: (this change supercedes the substiution rule in the current rule book)

Strike this rule: 2.5.2.4.  At the time a buzz-out occurs, another player may be substituted for the player who buzzed-out. Previously buzzed-out inactive players are eligible to return to the game, but they remain buzzed-out. The substitution must be done immediately before any other questions are read (including a bonus, if any). In case of a tie-breaker, any player who is not currently active may be substituted for any active player before the tie-breaker is read.

Then add this rule regarding substitutions:

Substitutions may occur during the following times and must be done immediately, before the next question is read:
⦁ After a buzz-out.
⦁ After both teams have been read their bonus on any bonus break.

Once a player leaves the game, he/she may not return, except in the case of a tie-breaker, where any player who is not currently active may be substituted for any active player before the tie-breaker is read.
