This Privacy Policy explains how National Bible Bowl (“Bible Bowl,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Florida nonprofit organization, collects, uses, and shares information across the Bible Bowl websites — the websites we operate on the biblebowl.org domain, including our public site and our account and registration system (together, the “Sites”). By using the Sites, you agree to this Policy. It does not cover third-party websites we link to, which have their own privacy policies.
Account and sign-in information. When you sign in to a Bible Bowl website, we receive your name, email address, and basic profile information. We also keep technical logs, such as your IP address and browser type, to help keep your account secure.
Registration information. When you register a group, team, or participant, we collect the information needed to run the program — such as a participant’s first and last name, grade, group and team, the seasons they take part in, tournament results, and any scholarship information. Adults who register participants also provide their own contact information.
Payment information. Registration fees are handled by our third-party payment processor, which processes your card details directly; we do not store full card numbers on our servers. We keep related records such as your name, billing contact information, and transaction history. Donations made online are handled on a separate third-party giving site with its own privacy policy.
Information you send us. When you fill out a contact or registration form or email us, we collect what you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, role, and message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Sites are used through analytics. This may include your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you visit.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the program and with our Nationals host college as explained below:
Bible Bowl is a program for students, including children under 13, and we care about protecting their privacy. Children do not register themselves — a parent or guardian, or an adult group sponsor acting with a parent or guardian’s permission, provides a child’s information when enrolling them.
The information we collect about a child includes their name, grade, group and team, participation and results, and any scholarship information. We use it to enroll the child and run the program, and we share it with the child’s group, team, and sponsor and with event organizers as needed to do so. We keep it only as long as needed for participation and our records.
Parents and guardians may review the information we have about their child, ask us to stop collecting or using it, or request that we delete it, by contacting the office. We may need to verify your identity first. If you have any questions about a child’s information, please contact the office.
We use cookies that are necessary to sign you in and keep the Sites working, along with analytics that help us understand how the Sites are used. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without them.
You can update or correct your account information at any time, or contact us to access, correct, or delete your information (we may need to keep some records, such as transaction history or competition results). You can opt out of our marketing emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information; contact us and we will honor them as required by law.
We use reasonable measures to protect your information from loss and unauthorized access, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You can help by keeping your password confidential and not sharing it with anyone.
The Sites link to other websites and services — such as our online store, our online giving page, and social media — that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to them, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “last updated” date above will change. If we make material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice. Please check back periodically.
If you have questions or comments about this Policy or our privacy practices, please contact us.
